2nd Chance Job Skills program – is provided by social workers and retired police officers who understand how to reach and teach youth who need a second chance. The program supports youth in the juvenal justice system as they strive to break the cycles of repeat offences.  The program is delivered in partnership with Juvenile Justice Services, Gang Intervention Team, and is provided in detention centers as well as community centers for youth who are on probation. Through a unique partnership with FRSCO / McDonalds, all participants who complete the program are guaranteed a job interview and 99% have achieved immediate employment.

The program is available to all youth who seek employment and are willing to complete the workshops and prepare for job interviews. Our community partners join in our belief that gainful employment most often serves as a major motivation and influence for youth and their families to make positive choices.

Goals – Business partners are providing equitable access to workforce training and employment opportunities for youth who are in the Juvenile Justice System or on probation as they strive to break the cycles of repeat offences, probation, and incarceration. In collaboration with community partners and law enforcement agencies, our team connects youth to resources and programs needed for graduation, higher education, workforce development training and certifications for advanced employment opportunities.  This supportive network of programs, instructors, life coaches and mentors work together to ensure youth are connected long-term to positive role models in our community.

Community Impact – Business partners are providing equitable access to workforce training and employment opportunities for youth who are exiting the Juvenile Justice System or on probation as they strive to break the cycles of repeat offences, probation, and incarceration.

2nd Chance Job Skills program provides all youth in the juvenile justice system the opportunity to enhance their life skills, prepare for employment and stay motivated to change the trajectory of their current situation by setting achievable goals and living to their fullest potential.

We solve complex problems.

Our Focus

Our programs implement immediate, youth-focused alternatives to recidivation. We utilize the Strength-Based Model approach to build young people’s self-esteem and self-confidence. Developing young people’s ability to manage personal and social relationships through employment has proven effective at increasing academic outcomes and lessening the chance of reoffending. This initiative to improve positive life outcomes for vulnerable youths is a collaboration between Vision Theatrical Foundation Inc (501c3), and Community Partner FRSCO / McDonalds.

We deliver real impact.

Who Are We?

Our programs are community-based interventions where youths receive personal assistance, structured group interaction, and opportunity. Our highly-skilled, professional staff deliver services that have demonstrated to achieve positive outcomes for youth, families, and communities. We collaborate with community-based organizations to provide resources and opportunities by giving them a Second Chance in life.

What We Do?

The 2nd Chance Job Skills program is addressing the problem of juvenile delinquency through job intervention. The objective is to remove barriers that prevent youths that remain subjected to the Juvenile Justice System from having a healthy balance of life experiences and education. We provide resources to avoid the dangerous cycle of further delinquency and recidivism. Our community-based program validates the importance of having a pathway for young people to transform their own lives and support their development into becoming valuable young adults.

Our IMPACT!

The 2nd Chance Job Skills program has provided employment opportunities to hundreds of previously and potentially incarcerated youths through social and emotional learning, job readiness training, educational assistance, mentor-ship, and youth peer support assistance. Our Investment in youths will help to improve public safety while building a more robust workforce and providing then next generation of youths with a sustainable future.
